Job Description

Job Summary:

The CSO seeks a Senior Coordinator, Recruitment and Employer Relations to serve as the operational engine behind the Office's employer partnership and recruitment programming portfolio. Reporting to the Associate Director for Recruitment and Employer Relations, this role owns the systems, logistics, data, and day-to-day partner communication that allow HGSE to build and sustain relationships with hundreds of employers, faculty researchers, and community organizations each year. The Senior Coordinator is also a critical part of the larger Career Services team, providing career coaching and advising to students and alumni, participating in and supporting CSO general programming, and engaging with cross-functional collaborations across the School.

This position is well suited to a candidate who excels at relationship building, takes ownership of the details, and wants to grow into a career services or employer relations career path. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a high degree of independence, managing multiple concurrent projects, providing high level customer service across constituents, being a strong collaborator and team member, and exercising sound judgment as a front-facing representative of HGSE and the CSO.

Responsibilities:

Employer relationship support and pipeline management

  • Serve as a primary operational contact for employer inquiries, escalating strategic partnership opportunities and complex issues to the Associate Director.
  • Manage the shared employer inbox: route, respond, or escalate requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Review, approve, and quality-check employer accounts and postings (job, internship, fellowship, and research positions) in Symplicity, our career services platform.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the CSO employer database of 1,100+ organizations in Symplicity.
  • Conduct prospect research to support employer outreach campaigns, identifying organizational contacts, preparing outreach lists, and drafting correspondence.

Recruitment event production

Manage end-to-end coordination for events (in-person, hybrid, and virtual), e.g., annual career fairs and expos, information sessions, expert panels, and other industry programming, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • registration management, communications, space and catering coordination, and other day-of logistics, operational support, and execution.
  • Coordinate employer registration and payment processes, utilizing both internal and vendor platforms, and partnering with HGSE finance colleagues.

Marketing, communications, and student engagement

  • Implement and maintain web and communication content in alignment with CSO strategy and guidelines.
  • Draft and distribute constituent-facing communications, including outreach emails, event promotion, newsletter content, and registration reminders, with a focus on detail and deadlines.

Data, reporting, and process improvement

  • Support data management, analysis, and process improvement initiatives by developing data trackers, dashboards, and reports to analyze employer engagement and event metrics to assist the CSO with data-informed decision making.

Coaching/Advising and Institutional Support

  • Offer weekly one-to-one career advising appointments with students and alumni (∼3-10 hours/weekly based on peak demand).
  • Support CSO events, some of which take place outside standard work hours: early mornings, evenings, or weekends.
  • Serve as CSO designee on relevant HGSE and University-wide working groups, committees, or events, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
  • Experience working with data management systems and using standard office software (Microsoft Office) is required.
  • Ability to work overtime outside standard work hours on occasion.
  • Any candidate wishing to be considered must supply a cover letter in addition to a resume and indicate meeting basic qualifications.

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience with relationship management, industry collaboration, and/or partnership development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once while maintaining attention to detail.
  • High level of professionalism and tact.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Experience working effectively with diverse student populations and communities.
  • Direct experience with career services platforms (like Symplicity or Handshake) is a big plus.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly while safeguarding confidential data.

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week
  • Compensation Range/Rate (including Shift Differential if applicable): $68,000- $70,000 commensurate with experience
