Job Summary:

Responsible for overall data management design and construction, ensuring optimization of data access, integration, and utilization. Manage interface and connectivity between multiple data storage sources using advanced database administration expertise.

Job-Specific Responsibilities:

The Manager of Data Integration (MDI) is responsible for the Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) practice. The MDI works with developers, the technical infrastructure team and product owners to support the timely and reliable delivery of integration services and features. The MDI maintains the technology currency of the Informatica implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and document complex tasks, including:
  • Informatica integrations, data synchronizations, mappings, APIs, and OData. Extract, transfer, and Load data in disparate enterprise systems.
  • Oracle SQL procedures, functions, and views. Organize and process information in a way that enables users to easily and intuitively go back and find details
  • Salesforce workflows, external objects, and external services. Allow external data to be manipulated and loaded in a manner to be useful to end users for both searching and reporting
  • Marketing Cloud data extensions. Load data to be used in all communications
  • Data Cloud (Data360) Streams, Objects, Models and integration with Salesforce Flows
• Collaborate with internal and external business partners to determine needs and evaluate solutions
• Monitor and support Informatica?s daily operations by optimizing scheduling across the platform to assure balanced and efficient service delivery. Tunning of existing assets to maintain high level of service
• Provide technical expertise and direction in developing and supporting system level integrations
  • Architecture design to build a solid foundation on which new services or updates of existing services can be built
  • Quality assurance focusing on improving the integration development process and making it efficient and effective
• Troubleshoot integration problems and recommend appropriate resolution employing data analysis skills
• Provide training to staff in both best practices of ETL procedures as well as design and development of integrations, mappings, and APIs
• Actively contribute to formulation of plans and policies

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years’ post-secondary education or relevant work experience

Additional Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Experience orchestrating and optimizing Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes
• Demonstrated experience working on Salesforce platforms, preferably within the higher education context (Ed Cloud)
• Proficient in SOQL, SOSL, SQL
• Competency in Web Services (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP)

• Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week
• Compensation Range/Rate (including Shift Differential if applicable): $100K-$130K/annual

About Us

The Division of Continuing Education (DCE) comprises four academic units serving about 30,000 domestic and international students annually, which allow Harvard to meet the learning needs of intellectually curious and highly motivated students from high school through retirement. Established in 1910, the Harvard Extension School (HES) offers access to Harvard faculty for a diverse community of adult learners, enrolling about 15,000 students. HES offers over 1,000 open enrollment courses — 85 percent of which are accessible online — and provides flexibility through noncredit, undergraduate, and graduate courses, including degrees, certificates, and a premedical program. The Harvard Summer School, founded in 1871, offers around 450 credit and noncredit courses both on the Harvard Campus and online, catering to 10,000 high school, college, and adult learners. Additionally, it offers more than 15 international study abroad programs, hosting up to 300 students each summer. Harvard DCE Professional & Executive Development delivers over 140 noncredit programs annually, reaching more than 3,600 participants through online platforms and its executive development center in Cambridge. The Harvard Institute for Learning in Retirement offers about 140 peer-taught courses to approximately 550 active members.

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
