Job Description

Job Summary:

The Digital Marketing Coordinator supports the MBA Admissions and Alumni Marketing & Communications (AAM&C) team managing key web properties, developing multi-channel content, and providing data-driven insights that improve engagement across audiences. This role collaborates closely with internal partners, creative teams, and central Marketing & Communications to maintain a consistent digital presence that reflects the HBS brand. This role is part of a larger team contributing to these efforts for student and alumni externally focusing projects, and projects or assignments may shift according to the needs of respective audiences. 


Job-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Web Management
    • Oversee the website, with an anticipated focus on MBA, to ensure an engaging, accurate, and user-friendly online experience.
    • Partner with departments to gather updates, refresh content, and support ongoing site improvements.
    • Support the day-to-day management of external websites, including publishing updates and coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Content Development 
    • Social Media
      • Contribute to the planning, creation, and scheduling of social content for HBS MBA admissions and HBS alumni audiences.
      • Generate new content ideas and formats; repurpose existing assets across channels using AI and other creative tools.
    • Website Projects
      • Lead the annual MBA Student Profiles project end-to-end, including student outreach, editorial coordination, and production logistics.
      • Work with photographers, authors, and internal partners to deliver high-quality profiles for publication on the HBS website for MBA, Doc, and ER.
      • Partner with departments on external website features and initiatives that enhance reach and engagement with our site.
  • Metrics and Insights 
    • Build and maintain a shared dashboard of admissions and alumni metrics across digital channels.
    • Collaborate with team leads to define KPIs and deliver quarterly performance summaries to the AAM&C team.
    • Partner with central Marketing & Communications to monitor and interpret web metrics, identifying opportunities for optimization.
  • Email Marketing 
    • Provide support for email marketing, including drafting, building, and sending messages as required.
    • As part of the broader MBA, Doctoral, and ER team, this role will have other duties including supporting events and programming. 
    • Build trust and collaboration by being present on-site and engaging directly with colleagues and various constituents
    • This role is responsible for other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in administrative support role(s) is required.
  • Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) experience is a must.


Additional Qualifications and Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing websites and/or social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with web content management systems.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Comfort learning and utilizing new digital tools and platforms.
  • Customer service orientation and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to occasionally support events, programming, and other team initiatives as needed.

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 40 hours per week, overtime eligible

  • Other Information:
    • This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday – Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.
    • We may conduct candidate interviews virtually (phone and/or via Zoom) and/or in-person for this role

Work Format Details

This position has been determined by school or unit leaders that some of the duties and responsibilities can be effectively performed at a non-Harvard location. The work schedule and location will be set by the department at its discretion and based upon operational needs. When not working at a Harvard or Harvard-designated location, employees in hybrid positions must work in a Harvard registered state in compliance with the University’s Policy on Employment Outside of Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
