MBA Registrar’s Office
Are you a higher ed professional looking to utilize and contribute your program management skills to a high-energy, innovative environment? Are you excited about being part of a collaborative team deeply committed to providing faculty and students with the highest-level MBA academic experience? Are you looking to be highly engaged in the day-to-day processes that support the MBA Program? If so, consider the Assistant Director role, where you will be a member of the MBA Registrar’s Office team with a specific focus on curricular programs.
What You’ll Do
Cross-Registration Program Management (40%)
- Manage cross-registration process by which non-HBS students and affiliates enroll in MBA courses for credit or audit.
- Educate Elective Curriculum (EC) faculty on cross-registration opportunities and determine portfolio of courses available for cross-registration each term.
- Participate in information sessions for potential cross-registrants and auditors and provide opportunities for cross-registered students to acculturate to the HBS Learning Model.
- Manage internal and external cross-registration sites, communications, and customer service for prospective and current cross-registered students, Registrar colleagues at peer schools, EC faculty, and Faculty Support Specialists (FSSs).
- Run cross-registration lottery and course assignment processes and maintain cross registration records and data infrastructure in SIS (Student Information System) and myHarvard, including enrollments, data transfers, student accounts, grades, and the course catalog.
Communications (15%)
- Maintain Curricular Programs information in ShareSites for admitted students, current students, and MBA Faculty/Faculty Support Specialists.
- Coordinate communications from Curricular Programs team such as weekly FSS newsletter and MBA weekly newsletter.
- Develop Curricular Programs communication calendar and collaborate across the MBA Registrar’s Office team to ensure that communications to students, faculty, and staff colleagues are coordinated and streamlined.
- Represent MBA Registrar’s Office on MBA Communications committee.
Academic Performance (15%)
- Support academic performance review process using reporting and data analysis tools.
- Share analysis with the team that supports the Academic Performance Committee.
Joint Degree Programs – Registrar Support (20%)
- Develop deep understanding of the HBS Joint Degree Programs and student paths through the programs and the MBA Registrar’s Office processes that support them, ensuring processes are consistent and aligned across programs.
- Maintain knowledge base of Joint Degree Programs curricula and Registrar-related policies for MBA Registrar’s Office team.
- Liaise with Joint Degree Programs staff and partners at peer schools on matters related to joint degree program curricula and students.
Short Intensive Programs (SIPs) – Registrar Support (10%)
- Liaise with Program Delivery team and SIPs faculty
- Manage Registrar-related processes for SIPS including course infrastructure, schedules, and enrollments in SIS.
Other Duties for MBA Registrar Services
- Support all-hands-on-deck events such as Term Start-up and Graduation.
- Participate in departmental goal-setting processes and implementation of priorities.
- Serves on MBA Program-wide task forces and committees.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of related experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience coordinating complex logistics and shifting priorities
- Good judgement, diplomacy, and the ability to work cross-functionally in directed and undirected environments
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to move tasks forward
- Strong attention to detail
- A knack for quickly learning new technologies
- Strong command of Zoom and Microsoft Office programs

Work Format Details
This is a position that is based at a Harvard campus location with some remote work options available. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.
